Oil leak [gearbox oil filter seal]

I have noticed a few drips of oil on the floor where I normally park. Looked under neath to see a bit of a mess.
It's oil I would say and quite clean oil at that. Took the under pan off to investigate and this is what I have found. I would normally take it straight to my local vw indy who do everything on it now but they cannot get it in for a few weeks!
Its a 2017 204 BITD DSG 46k and had everything its ever needed and more.
Just wondering if I should park it up till I can get it into the garage.
Any insight into what it is would be much appreciated.

I’ve got the same engine/box in my van, my oil leak was the crank end oil seal, quite common. Mine was under warranty, circa £750 at a main dealer.

I have the same leak on my 4 year old van. It's going in on 1st March they will fix leak and do timing belt water pump and tensioners at same time for £650.

Yeah it's a shame, it had all the belts done 7k ago including DSG oil and filter change.
Not sure how long it's been leaking, or if it can cause any further damage still driving it?

So an update on this one.
My local independent VW specialist managed to fit me into today to investigate, it turns out to have been a split gearbox oil filter seal!
This was replaced by they them when they did the DSG oil and filter last year, it only needed about half a litre of oil to top it back up so no harm done.
So a new seal was fitted all kindly done foc.
