OEM Webasto Auxiliary Heater To Parking Heater Upgrade

I’ve read the whole thread, waiting for the T6.1 instructions. So I’ll be waiting. Some great people on here sharing their knowledge.

I’d been struggling for ages with almost no range on the Remote. I changed the generic arial for kuftec one and it now works well. Warm car tomorrow. 😊

Could also be placement in a pillar wasn’t great.

Hello, I wanted to make some adaptions for my heater with the help of VCDS, but got this.

how can I get the right workshop code, yes no did not work.

Is it new from VW? I got the same message with a new one, I chose yes and it worked.

thank you, I will give it another try later.
I found this on a rosstech site and now I know the meanings for these fields a little bit better...
From that I should be able to use the default values or perhaps a combination from another control module.....

Workshop Identification

  • Shop Name is displayed on reports, such as the Fault Code Report.
  • The WorkShop Code (known as the WSC) is found on the Admin screen of a dealer's VAS-5051, as well as on the dealer's stamp. The default value is 00000. For example, using the stamp below, the dealer's number is 401/742. To derive the Work Shop Code, drop the first digit and use the remaining digits in order.
wsc2.gif

  • The VZ/Importer number is essentially a "region code" extension to the Work Shop Code (should be 444 for US, 999 for Canada). The default value is 000.

Note: If you are an individual user or independent mechanic, just leave the VZ/Importer number set to "000". This allows VCDS to operate in stealth mode, keeping Importer number that was already in the controller. If you are using VCDS at a Dealership, enter your Dealer's VZ/Importer number. The VZ/Importer number is not easily changed once set on this screen. Contact us for advice if you need to do so.

Some control modules do not allow themselves to be Coded with the default 000 Importer number in place. VCDS should prompt you with a message to input non-zero values in such cases. You should NOT make such changes in the Options screen itself.
  • The Equipment Number field is used most often when coding new control modules. Some control modules will refuse being recoded if they're not given an equipment number (sometimes they require a non-zero WSC and Importer number too). The default value is 00000.

hm, I used the codes from another module, it works now, partially. If I want to change a temperature, and I tested several ones, I get the following:

other fields, e.g. a boolean value, works.

so unfortunately no solution since 2020. I also tried adaptation of channel “IDE06688-Auxil. heater activation”, as in the ross-tech thread, and it was accepted. That was my "e.g. a boolean value":)

FWIW at the time OBDeleven did the adaptation for me.

I’m in Germany too, I’m in Wiesbaden if that’s near maybe I can help. I have Odis on my laptop. I think that also calculates the adaptation automatically.

Thank you for the offer. It's not a hurry, I actually just wanted to move the temperature range of the heater in support mode down a bit, but it's not that important.
It's more that it generally annoys me a bit when something doesn't work as expected.:)

Do we think there will be a comprehensive guide regarding adapting the factory diesel heater fitted to the shuttle T6.1 to work as a leisure/camping heater soon? Been following for a bit, many thanks

So far, (HERE on this forum)* there is nobody that has shown anything finished for the T6.1 FWIK.

Only @eugene, for what I understand, has done it sussfully but the details are not yet published here because he needs more time.
So I guess we have to wait for that.

There are a couple commercial solutions too, but, besides hearing that they do not work properly (again, seen no proof of that) , and/or that they are too expensive, no one has shown HERE a full T6.1 implementation of them, FWIK.

Spolier warning:
my understanding is that any implementation, commercial or DIY, if done with new or reliably sourced parts will be anyway quite expensive, in the order of 1K pounds or more, depending on the options implemented.
Not that this much in Transporter world, but it may reduce the audience of the ones interested.

*I heard that in other forums some has given a complete solution, but this is not relevant to this discussion.

Thank you very much for the heads up. I think I’ll probably just go down the route of getting an autoterm fitted then. Many thanks :)

You are still supporting Russia - just not as directly as previously. The Russian director changed his address to Israel to get round the sanctions. The company is still Russian for all its pleading that it is based in Latvia now.

Eagerly awaiting this! 👏
