Octopus energy smart meter

Anyone use octopus energy with a smart meter? Had ours for a few weeks and can't get a straight answer out of octopus. What I want to know is if the unit price that shows on the smart meter display box is automatically set by octopus or does it have to be set manually (can't see anywhere how to change this)?

I thought they updated it remotely, im not with Octopus but i do have a smart meter and when checking it the other day i see the rate set on my meter matches what i see on my bill so my energy display unit in the kitchen gives a realistic cost/consumption figure day to day week to week
 
I have an EDF one, but I think they are all the same, and both unit price and daily standing charge are set by the supplier.
 
what does the price per unit show on your app / bills and does it correspond to the price the meter is showing ?

That's the problem, we haven't had a bill yet from the new smart meter. Basically with our old supplier we were paying around £2.30 per day for electric, on the same unit price with octopus and the display hasn't gone above £1 per day. So either the unit price is wrong or our old meter was faulty and we've been over paying for 30 years!

hum. Little you can do until you have an actual bill to compare

do you have historic bills from your previous supplier?
 
It does take a few weeks for it to settle down and get itself sorted out, from memory ours took over a month before it became accurate
