NOCO Genius Boost XL

Hi away to order one as a back up but see the cables for the boost are very short and don’t think they will do to connect to the chassis ground point and positive battery
I heard it’s ok to put direct on to both terminals but I think this is a no with the battery that’s fitted
Looked for longer cables but nothing cones up
Better to look for other models of any suggestions welcome

The BOOST is a jump starter. . .

so the assumption is that the battery is dead flat anyway.

in this case its fine to got direct to the battery. . . . just for the jump start . . .

look for the GB70 upwards

(the GB50 BOOST XL is not sufficient imho)

I have the GB40 that we use to start customers Motorhomes and it's never failed to start anything we have that's almost always totally dead.
Brilliant bit of kit. I will add that it's plumbed into my van, so when we are plugged into a customers 240v, the Noco is being charged, so it's always fully charged up, which does make a big difference. Before we hard wired the unit, it would struggle to start vehicles if not at full charge.

I’ve got a gbx45 which seems to do the job no problems so far on 3l diesel and 6.3l petrol

The smaller units will start a flat battery as long as the battery is healthy, is the battery is starting to fail (ie not hold a proper charge) then that’s where the difference comes, I had a gb40 fail to start one of our vans with an old battery, stuck the gb70 on it and it fired straight up

I've had the GB20 and GB40 in the past and sold them both on.....(my GB40 failed to start a 1.7d vaux astra in the dead of winter with a dead battery... Tried to turn over, but I think the glow plugs drained it flat before it managed to start)

Obviously every situation is unique..... But I know 100% that the GB70 (and up) will start just about anything..... including any T6.

Fwiw...

I have the GB70 and the GB150.

I've sold off all the other jump packs.

I was told the newer GBX models were better than the older GB ones too but never used a GB so can’t be sure

Noco seems to be the recommended choice just have to see what size

Yeh defo They're the best.

I've had many over the years ....

Untill I went Noco, now I'd love to get a newer model...... But they won't die.

So I'll keep rocking the two I have...

Just remember to keep them 100% charged over the cold period.

We used @Leehoops Noco to start a poorly T6 at T6F autumn camp......and they weren't even part of our group, just at the same campsite.
