Newbie Camper (t5.1)

Asked a couple of questions and we've been 'umming and erring' about a camper for a while, decided to go for it, found a nice one (well we think so), pick up this weekend. Looking forward to some DIY work on it, hoping to retro fit power latches so it's easier for the kids, a reversing camera and MFSW.

It’s growing on me, missus fell for it the moment she saw it. Will be hard wearing for the kids etc at least!

Reclaimed pallet wood? Looks great, should be hard wearing, you won't need to be precious about scratches and dents, and you could always change the finish on the wood or even sand and paint it if you ever wanted a change

Yea and the floor is scaffy planks, I think the more scuffs wear and tear the better it’ll probably look!

The wood looks really cool, like that a lot. If it's not too nerdy a question (I'm a joinery designer by trade), any pictures of the joints in the wood? (I'm guessing it must be tongue and grooved, or biscuited together?)

A biscuit is a sliver of wood that is glued into a slot in each of the two bits of wood to be joined. A bit like a dowel joint, where you drill the two pieces and bridge the joint with a dowel peg - except instead of a dowel its a flat 'biscuit' glued into milled slots:



You can have double or multiple biscuits too:
