Newbie 6.1 infotainment questions

Hi all,

Firstly this looks like a great forum to be part of. I did search for my answers but couldn't see anyone with a similar problem... If anyone could help I'd be grateful.

Is there anyway to share data from your phone via Bluetooth? I can set up a wireless hot-spot on my phone and the infotainment system will connect via wifi but my phone has an option to share data via Bluetooth and I can't see any similar settings on the car.

Secondly, I can't seem to access the "store" function on the infotainment system. Everytime I click it, it says unable to load. I didn't pay for a data plan with the van but I would assume I could still connect to the store via WiFi?

All that aside I'm looking forward to getting out on some trips with it! Thanks in advance for any help

Hi and welcome. :thumbsup:
Do you have the standard head unit, or the nav option?? The standard unit only works via the usb-c cable. With Apple car play or android auto. The only Bluetooth is for the phone, when not connected via the cable

I just tried to connect to the store with the phone plugged in and it comes up with "loading we connect products" then "unable to connect to the shop" again!
 
No worries, thanks for trying though. I have noticed it seems to be stuck in a software update at the mo.

Out of interest have you managed to access the store function on your head unit?
 
I’ve never tried. I just plug the phone in and use Waze. Are you trying to store music, contacts etc??
 
Na just curious about what it can do, I've got the app connect running but I believe you can use waze without plugging your phone in, so through either WiFi connection or the vans esim.

I think that app is already installed, I was just hoping that Spotify could be downloaded from the we connect store.

Have you set up your We Connect and become primary user yet? I had loads of trouble and ended up on the phone to VW to get it sorted. Turns out I needed to connect the car to my home wifi first and then set up the primary user profile. After I did that I had full online services.
 
Unfortunately, Yeh, I've set up we connect, became the primary user and am connected to the home WiFi. I'm at the point where I may reset to factory settings and start again. Thanks for the advise though.
