New tablet

I've decided to buy a new windows tablet for vcds instead of the laptop but wonder are there any other diagnostic softwares available more generic types that I can use? I also want a Bluetooth interface for said software not bothered if its pay upfront or subscription type just want something reliable that clears codes puts brakes into service mode etc.

Also is there downloadable software for vw like a parts catalogue I had one years ago was brilliant.

BT is too slow for vcds, so you need the cable or WIFI version for PC.

Loads of other dedicated scanners like Autel etc, but none are as specific for VW as vcds.

So it depends what you want.

Basic stuff like you mentioned above can be done with BT units and your phone.... Like carista and obd11.

For the van I’m planning on getting the wireless VCDS just need to save some money up as the van is rinsing me at the minute.
