New insurance quote on my partial conversion

Hi all, I just wanted to flag this up in case it helps anyone who is shopping around for insurance quotes.
The van is a 2020 reg T6.1 High Line Panel Van that I bought last August(2021) I have since worked through the process of converting to a camper, all the usual mods, including Kitchen with twin gas hob, sink, Dometic fridge, RIB 130cm seat/bed, side bars, 17" steel swampers etc etc etc but still not quite finished. The estimated value today of between 54k - 56k. I have limited myself to 7,000 miles for next year as my first year of really using it(I have only done 2k this year due to working on it). I can always increase the miles for the following year.
After shopping around a few companies I have received a quote this morning from Chris at 'A' Plan of £435.00, for cover, £350 Excess, £90. Windscreen. 180 days of EU Cover. There is no requirement for me to have a tracker fitted, but it is something I am going to do and have been consulting with Dave-Tech(Chris). I will book in with him later this month. My previous insurers who covered me with it as a van charged me £475 last year and quoted me a renewal price for this year of £485 - with the van valued at 36k last year. That was without them taking into consideration the mods I have done and spent on it and the increase in value from last year.
I am not going to post the figures that I was quoted from the other companies on here, but enough to say they were not as good for me as 'A'Plan.
Thank you to the T6 Forum for providing me with the contacts as a start point to obtain my insurance quotes, me being a relative 'Newby'.
I hope this helps someone.

Hope you quoted DAV-TEC and got 10% off!

I got no joy with A - Plan was quoted £485 for a 08 plate 6 seater with 29,000 miles, no mods, clean license. Parked outside house at night. And in a secure yard during the day. Sabre is the underwriter I believe. And this was the Thatcham office. . But just need to look elsewhere. I thought my insurance company Brentacre would be better but nope. So shopping around . . I think the problem is that my T5 is a 6 seater window van and not a minibus or a kombi either.

I’ve just insured my new to me T6 using Aplan. My van is not fully converted but they were happy to cover all mods that I listed. £389 Ps I’m 58 with a clean license.

Direct Line £350 FC one year old highline Kombi 10,000 a year

A - Plan will cover a van worth up to 60k without it needing to have an S5 Tracker fitted.
A-Plan wouldn't insure my new Sportline because of the value. I had a quote for £995 and that also required me to fit an S5 tracker.

Aplan wouldn’t insure me neither because of the value of the van, already had merc vito insured when I tried to insure new transit instead my policy almost tripled due to value so never tried them with the camper went straight to Brentacre

Hi All. just thought I'd bump this thread if it helps others too. (I'll pop figures in as an idea of the 'delta' between standard and modded, but pretty irrelevant as there are sooooo many variables.....Postcode, Occupation, Shoe size, Favourite colour blah blah blah...)
Anyhow, insurance renewal time and £485 (£100 plus increase on last year but to be expected as materials, labour etc have gone skyward) with current provider on van with just after-market alloys, 6K miles PA with business use, SP10, 55 years, Company Director, clean DVLC, 9 years+ NCD. About £30 cheaper on the usual 'Supermaket Comapre' sites.
After a quick chat with 'Pauly' off this forum (Thanks mate);) and a search on here, arrived at A Plan (Now rebranded as Howdens Insurance) at Thatcham who 'specialise' in converted vans.
The direct number for the 'van section' is 01635 879 910. (Callum, Harry, Chris or Dan). Spoke to Dan. Mega helpful.
Short answer got a quote with current wheels and mods that are just being completed. (Carpet Lining, Side windows) and.....future mods declared which will be pull out storage 'coffins/seating' to be fitted next year (think Ply Guys or Cymru Campervan Furniture type of thing) for a reasonable £479, with a bit of 'Forum Discount'!.
Yes...I could get a bit (£50) cheaper, but the cover was not really as comprehensive
But...Devil is in the detail. This covers 180 Days EU travel, £300 for Camping Gear, £100 awning cover, No XS on W/S repair. Legal cover. Fully Comp, Protected NCD. ALL mods are covered like for like, and a significant increase in declared value of van compared to what my current provider had laughingly valued it at.
So..hope this helps someone and once again thanks to Pauly and the Forum!!

Edit to say T30 6.1 150 BHP H/L
