After recently completing the wiring and install of my Renogy 50A charger and controller my priority was getting the money together for the solar panel on the pop top to complete the dual charging system. It seems though that the mates of Murphy have eyes on me and won’t allow that. My dashcam which has served me well through three vehicles finally died on me…two days later. To me it’s an essential gadget as the pictures have saved my insurance bacon a couple of times. C’est la Vie. However, just like buses, these things don’t come along in ones. My starter battery which admittedly was due for renewal also expired this week. So after ordering another from Tayna I’m left with another hole in the account. Hmm. It’s said shit happens and always come in threes. I’m now getting twitchy, ready to duck the the third shovelful. :uh run:

Out of curiosity, which starter battery did you go for?

A straight replacement. The van has had much less work over the last year due to an accident...me not the van. After concussion it took a lot of time to restore enough confidence for motorway work so most driving has been short journeys around town. However in spite of that and longer parked up periods it has had no problems. The Renogy 50a controller and charger with the 200w solar panel on the roof has been looking after things nicely all through the winter. A bit like having a trusted nanny looking after the kids.
