I have recently installed am amplifier not using OEM wiring. Now when using the phone the call does not play through the speakers, but I can hear a very quiet sounds from the head unit.

I have been led to believe that the T6 has stand alone amplifier for the hands free function, it looks like that, the code is on here:

This is possible located here:

Does this mean to get my hands free phone playing through the speakers I need to use the OEM wiring?

TIA

My guess about module 4H0 035 456 is that it is just two-way RF amplifier/repeater which was used in early days to enhance GSM reception/transmission inside cabin. Some vehicles had/have RF blocking metallic layers in glasses and this gadget was used to create a "hole" into these. So shouldn't help with your problem. Anyways, that's just by googling...

EDIT: I believe the module is (J984) as found e.g. on page 13 in ---> VAG SSP 519 – The Infotainment System in the Golf 2013 Part II - Pdf Online Download

EDIT 2: For T6 on page 15 in ---> The T6 Infotainment & Car-Net SSP-562

The only time I noticed something similar to this was in my T5. Music was fine but I couldn’t hear the sat nav or the phone. They were really quiet. It turned out to be a bad connection on my drivers side door speaker. I didn’t notice it wasn’t working when playing music, with the sub and the tweeters being fine plus the door speaker mainly fires at your leg  . Phone calls and sat nav instructions however, were only sent to the front right channel, meaning I only heard them from the tweeter.

Thanks, I've just noticed today that the sat nav instructions also come from a tinny speaker in the head unit. I've checked and all 4 speakers are working though.

Thanks, Im guessing its nothing to do with that module then.

I can’t imagine whey there would be a tinny speaker in the head unit? It doesn’t make sense

how is it configured? Diagram would help
Thanks

These were my install steps
Remove quad lock from back of head unit.
plug in Audison AP T-H AVS03 VAG 52 pin harness.
Screenshot 2020-06-27 at 18.12.23.png
plug in Prima AP P&P IN loom to above harness and into amplifier.

run wires from amplifier output channels directly to speakers. I bought the correct connectors so I didnt splice or cut into the OEM wires.
Ch 1 and 2 to tweeters
Ch 3 and 4 to door speakers.

Is the phone/nav just coming out of the tweegets?
@Absolut5 I discovered a poor connection/ fitting on my phono/ RCA lead at the amp under seat, which was causing pass side speakers to intermittently switch off and on. Since this discovery I attempted to get a better connection temporarily (until I get to replace cable). Now when answering a call it seems very quiet, possibly only coming from tweeters...any ideas? Is it just the poor connection causing all issues? Previously phone volume was ok. Is it possible I have just disturbed a setting on the amp/ cables when rummaging?

For info when playing music over bluetooth (spotify) volume is fine/ loud.

** update ** Think it's sorted. Tried a few things so unsure what the actual fix was but must have caught one of switches on amp, call volume was low (even though I'd previously turned this to full several times) Phone updated and been powered down... re checked dodgy connection. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
