Mark a Thread as Read.

Is it possible to have a button to mark a particular thread as read without having to open it. There is pn other forums I use and I find it very helpful to get rid of the threads I know nothing about so can have no input or would require information from that thread.

I use the new posts link, read the ones I'm interested in then press "mark all as read" and clear what's left.

I've thought of that, but I often leave some threads unread deliberately to find them easier when I want information from them. :/

How do you know what information you want from them if you’ve not read them

I don’t need to know about retro fitting LED lights or Stance + for eg, nor can I offer any help.

Old thread I know, but..
Another option is to hold on the title / date last updated so it opens up in a new window, but then let go and tap the screen somewhere other than on the new window (so that the new window never opens and you remain on the same page) but the forum sees that you’ve visited that thread and as such marks it as read.
It takes about half a second to do.
