Machined bolt holes have no paint

Hello,

I’ve got myself some Judd t311r wheels for my van, but I’m a bit unsure about the machining of the bolt holes.

The PCD has been machined after the wheels have been sprayed, leaving bare metal inside the bolt hole.

Will this not cause water to get under the paintwork and cause damage? These are a common wheel so somebody hopefully can put my mind to rest!

Most I’ve seen are like that. My Devonports are the same. I don’t notice an issue on those.

You don't want paint in the bolt holes. Couple of reasons, the first time you torque up the studs, it will break the paint in an un-predictable way & may cause worse water penetration. You also don't want to be tightening the studs onto paint, the paint will fret & cause the wheel studs to come loose.
