Loose external sliding door handle

Is it possible just to buy the replacement spring?

Seem to have the same problem here, handle came completely loose, I took yhe door card off to find this pin barely held in. Question is do I have to undo the mechanism and take it out to pop this pin back or can it be done in place? Tried for a while but didn't seem to want to go back in.

Hi mate , I've got exactly this problem and the pin is missing, do you know if this is available from VW ? I've read that a fe people have tried an allen key !

Measure the diameter you need, you can buy bright steel or stainless steel rod on Ebay.

I’m sure you’ve looked already but the pin must be in the bottom of the door somewhere,
