Locked keys in van

I was on a job 120 miles from home, finished off, put my keys on tool box did some paperwork, went to get it signed. Come back yes no keys, van dead locked. To cut a long afternoon short- 90 mins for AA. 60 mins to get driver door open. 30 mins feeling about under the seats( moxerion bulkhead) to get the original key because even with drivers door open could not open tailgate. I know silly me Just a warning to you all.

Its a funny one as roadside assist says call them if you lose your keys, put the wrong fuel in, have a flat tyre etc etc but i know they charge for some stuff like wrong fuel so assumed they would charge for locking your keys in as its a self inflicted event but you never know ?

Why did you have the original key under the seat?

Key was in back of van. Under the rear seats are holes in the bulkhead. They enable you to pull the rear seats out.
