Lights Under Side Bars?

Taking my van to converters in August for phase 2 with all the insulating, electrics and lighting.
Is it fairly straight forward to light up underneath side bars or would this be a stupid idea?
I know the sport line has them but just wondering if anyone has modified this there selves?
