Hi guys, having a bit of an issue with my elec set up.

Plugged into a EHU on Tuesday, van was happy with voltage display reading 13.8v on my Sargent EC160 panel. Went to move pitches (was offered a better pitch), plugged into that one and the control panel read 12.2v but the 3 pin plug socket still worked fine so the van is receiving the EHU but not displaying the correct voltage.

Arrived home yesterday and my mechanical nightbour had a look (I've no clue with van elecs) and we think that the LB is no longer charging from the Sterling B2B charger. Im a little bit lost as what has possibly happened between moving pitches?? some sort of surge or something? Checked all fuses and they look OK.

Any suggestions? I hire my van out and next Sunday its going to Scotland for two weeks so really need it sorting by then :(

Of be checking the supply fuses.

From the starter and leisure battery.

Post a few pics of of both battery's to identify the feeds.

Hi.
The sterling charger has nothing to do with charging while on hook up. This charges the battery while driving.
If your on EHU and have power to the sockets.
Checker battery charger switch is turned on at ec160
Check trip is in on position behind bottom plastic cover on ec160.
Check fuse for charger is OK behind top plastic cover on ec160.

If these are all OK, I suspect charger down on ec160 or cable/connection issue.

If you’re hiring the van out for profit, maybe best to get it looked at professionally. At least you’ll be able to offset any costs against your tax bill.

Will do mate, it’s back with me on Sunday but only for an hour (nightmare…….)

Just wanted to update this as it may help others.

Popped over to @AJCConversions today in Glossop to find out what the issue is. Turns out the battery charger in the Sargent EC160 unit had gone. Something Brandon has never experienced before so I guess im just the lucky one ha ha.

30 mins later I have a Victron smart charger installed and the Sargent charger disabled. All working as it should now and the plus side I suppose from this issue is that I now have a Smart Charger so its better for the LB.

Cant thank Brandon (AJC) for squeezing me in at short notice enough, always my go to for Camper conversions or issues!

Is it me or does there seem to be a flurry of Sargent charger problems lately?
