Anyone recommend a good quality AGM? eBay seems flooded with them ranging from £60 - £200.

(Not ready for lithium yet).

it depends on where you want to fit it? , due to physical size . . .

you might be able to fit a 95ah/110ah under a single seat base . .

but a 75ah under double seat base.

twin batteries in rear build?

so where to plan to fit it/them?

and to power what? - which like give an idea of size reqd.

Would you say 2 x 110Ah is necessary for your needs? What do you run off your batteries? I’m looking to just have a 12v compressor fridge, a few LEDs and a 12v water pump running, so sounds similar to @Dave Lawson . Obviously LEDs won’t take much and water pump will be used rarely and for very short periods of time.. so just the fridge that will be using majority of the power. Do you think 110Ah battery would be enough or should I go for a slightly larger 130Ah one and mount on its side?

a reminder you only get to use about half your A. H. for your calculations and don't deep discharge to often

Yeh this is another thing I’ve been trying to factor in.. The fridge I’m thinking of is 45W 12v 50L compressor from Kiravans, I’m estimating it to consume about 1Ah/h given that it won’t actively be cooling 24hrs a day… please correct me if I’m way off there! So with a 110Ah or 130Ah battery hopefully should easily last a day or 2 off grid which is plenty for me as mostly will be using for weekends away, and will likely be driving an hour or so each day allowing the battery to recharge a bit with split charge relay

if your driving an hour a day you wont run into any problems you should get 2 - 3 days get a plug in volt meter if you have not got one. if you pack some frozen food or small bottles frozen water in the top of the fridge it will help hold off the comp running for a bit and you got chilled water to drink if needed
just keep it above12v
