I’ve always upgraded bulbs (from when Philips first bought out the ‘plus 20%’. version and now I have their plus 200!
It’s one of those things - as others get ever brighter bulbs I find I need to just to give me a chance of good vision while being dazzled by some mal-adjusted light coming head on.
I also love torches and end up buying/selling/collecting them (although not to the degree some do).
So I try and keep up to date with this sort of stuff.
I would fit decent LED ‘bulbs’ from Philips if they were legal, which I know they are in some EU countries, as I see the benefit to me. But there does need to be testing as there clearly has been elsewhere otherwise I am just adding to the problem of dazzling and, while these bulbs are against the law, that puts one in a very tricky position should you dazzle someone and cause an accident.
