When you say “stop overs” are you wanting campsites, aires or “stealth” night stops? We’re on our way back up Europe after a month’s skiing tour. We drove past annecy on the way down. We’ve started setting the satnav to “avoid toll roads” & we’ve seen much more, saved money & had a relaxed journey. But we ain’t in a rush. Park 4 Night is a must if you’re winging it.
@Jayc if you follow the link there are a few details about Lake Annecy on there but not much on route down.
We always just look for a site not to far off main routes, drive on have a look around if if looks well kept and lots of Dutch campers/caravans then it's normally great for a stop over, refresh good shower & croissants.
To be fare you can't really go that wrong in France for campsites!
