Kumho 20" sidewalls cracking.

I've heard that the type of speed bumps show below can cause this type of wear. No idea if it's proven to be true but sorta makes sense when it's the inside only that cracks.

They're the 20mph cushions to indicate a school zone, got them up the road from us but only a brick wall would slow down the mentalists dropping off their little darlings.
By now have we run through the whole spectrum of wheel and tyre configurations to the point that everyone is going to encrapulate their Transporter back to factory spec and admit they should never have dreamed of trying to make it their own?

I think slightly under inflated tyres. Inside edge likely gets more compression when van loaded and subsequent heat and stress on tyre wall mesh cause the damage.

This shows the rear camber nicely, set for track use, but illustrates the point of camber adjustment..

Alignment front and back does not include camber reset, unless asked/paid for, and as stated, you need the aftermarket power flex bush kit for this..

I haven't seen any threads on tyre pressure recommendations below 40psi. The tyres shouldn't degrade like that and doubtless kumho will come back saying operator error.

I will not drive on wheels more than 5psi underinflated especially with a heavier chassis weight every mile probably takes a thousand miles off the life in regards to tyre wall health.

Edit: for clarity this isn't criticism of the OP - I'm not one of 'them' hehe

My digital tester was obviously not reading correctly and it wore the outside edge of it very quickly!
Wasn’t too worried as they were getting low on tread. All good now though!

I stupidly drove with over inflated tyres without noticing for long enough to wear the middle. Tried to compensate by running them a little under inflated for a while (not as low as you though) but it didn’t have the required effect, 1000s of miles taken off the tyres!

Don't be hard on yourself we had a Fiat Grand Punto hire car in Marbella years ago and this thing was lethal on their motorways right up to the day we took it back to the airport drop off.
This was when you could switch manually, using a switch, between city and motorway driving power assistance , I could barely keep it in a straight line at 120kph, constant micro corrections but it was a doddle in Marbella, Porto Banus harbour and even around Gibraltar... other mistake.
