Try just Kampers as that sounds very expensive.
Oh do you live in a rural area. If so try N.F.U. Mutual meant to be very helpful and decent to deal with on prices too.
I live in a rural area, I'm over 50 and I drive a 5 seat Kombi, with Direct Line I pay £324 fully comp.
Last year they paid out when a stone smashed the windscreen of my Freelander 2, that cost them over £1,000 and they didn't quibble, I just paid the small excess, from memory I think about £80. I did get a quote from NFU but it was lots more.

A-Plan just sorted me right out, adding coilovers and new wheels tomorrow and More Than wouldn't cover me anymore (Previous policy with them was £300) A-Plan got me any mods policy (just no performance ones) with full value replacements for not much more. Really happy with the service.
