Kombi Factory Lining - Sell Or Reuse?

What happens to the van part of the factory lining panels in a kombi during conversion? My 2017 T6 has unmarked roof and side panel linings and I don't know if they are reused and lined / covered as part of the conversion. They seem to be bits of hardboard or cardboard. Do they just get covered after soundproofing and insulation is done?

There’s no reason why they can’t be covered and re-used but most tend to fit ply panels as they are much stronger and can also be thicker.
If you are doing the conversion yourself I’d hang on to the original panels and use them as templates for cutting ply or ensuring any bought in ply panels are correct (some aren’t). They don’t appear to have much re-sale value but I guess it’s a case of how much somebody wants it locally given that they don’t post well!
Added to other items for sale might sweeten a deal.

Thanks, that makes sense.

Ply v's cardboard... the only advantage to recovering the originals is weight.
