JLM diesel cleaner

Nope but have some millers ready in the door bin for the next fill up. So much cheaper than vpower!

Also been recommended Archoil and Hydra products. And mineral two stroke oil but yet to research that fully!

I use vpower every few fuel ups , I have had the egr light come on , then go off then on off over a few months now and a good clean first before new egr valve seems like a sensible option. This product seems to have a few good reviews

Just done a quick cost compare….wife does 20k on petrol which is roughly 2600ltr ….petrol + fuel on average 10p extra = £260 …using archoil would be £80… cost saving £180 over a years driving……if the claims are half as good thats Happy Days :)

Archoil sell a power cleaner for one off treatment then a regular additive. The Millers just says to double dose it.

@VanDamMan the price difference on diesel vpower is more like 17p / litre! None of the supermarkets sell the uprated diesel.

That’s a lot of extra cash that the forecourts make….I’ll stick with archoil… New product … hope it gets over the pond …looks interesting :)

I can’t say I’m a big believer in de-carbonising additives, if they worked they would be used in industrial power plant and they are not.
It’s one thing to prevent gum and carbon build up, no issues there if alchemy provides you with the magic mix.
But removing carbon and passing it through the cylinders doesn’t seem like a great idea as inevitably it will be forcing hard carbon particles down the piston ring butts.

the Biggest issues is that motor manufacturers have played at getting emissions down at the sake of creating other issues for poor motorists..DPF ERG adblue ……so we suffer.. Powerplants tend to be better built for longevity unlike car engines…..but it’s days are numbered let’s hope Batteries and electric motors works better….what can go wrong with a coil and a few magnets

Urea (adblue) is widely used in new ships power plant these days and not without issues.
I also thought electric drives would be simple, I had several years experience using them in place of marine hydraulic drives, great when they work but no simple fixes when they fail, open heart surgery on a frequency converter that‘s designed by an ‘engineer’ with no maintenance considerations is a nightmare.
