Ikea Hammarn Sofa Bed T6 LWB Kombi

Hi all, late last year I bought an Ikea Hammarn sofa bed after reading it was perfect for the back of a T6. I am sure I read somewhere that for a T6 LWB Kombi people had got it to fit in the flat position without removing the rear Kombi seats.

However, having wrestled with it for a couple of hours and trying it in different positions, I don't think it's physically possible without removing the seats. Has anyone out there managed to get it to fit? I think the answer is no but just want to double check. Thanks.

I'd say not possible...the lwb is only about 500mm longer than the swb and with the seats removed from a swb, the bed when open gives around 300mm at the bulkhead position. Hence leaving the seats, in eats away around 1100 of floor space.

Info for others who may happen across this thread;
We have a LWB Kombi and have today passed on our IKEA Hammarn sofa bed after using it multiple times to sleep on behind our rear seats.

Our Kombi has the 2+1 rear seats.
I fitted the Hammarn with the ‘head’ end to the rear and used a short length of 63x38mm CLS stud work under the bow leg that drops down under said ‘head’ end.

This raised it just enough to clear the fitting bracket moulding of the pull-down tailgate strap.

We would then sleep with our heads at that end.

Due to my advancing years & for my wife’s peace of mind we would remove the single rear seat and site our Thetford PortaPotti there for nighttime comfort breaks.

We have only passed the bed on as we no longer have room to store it when using the Kombi for other ‘stuff’.

Currently looking at various pod system options.
Either one that would remove easily and dismantle, or others that would support the weight of ‘stuff’ I need to transport.

Hope this helps.
Andy
