Identifying this ex fleet

There are a number of these vans on auto trader. I think they’re ex fleet, twin slider, high mileage. I’m looking at them for a van conversion, however I am worried about the floor.
It appears there are vents, has anyone seen these before? If so will there be holes in the base of the floor that may need welding or anything that would effect it becoming a camper?

Thanks in advance guys

Could it be ex-dog vans for the Police or MOD??? Dosnt look like there's been any racking fitted.

I don't think it is ex-Police. They tend to make a lot of changes to the vehicle's structure and electrics. This one looks way too tidy to be ex Old Bill.

I don’t think so, they tend to go for bog standard trims don’t they. This is Trendline with a few added extras. This particular on is a 68 plate DSG on 148K but has full VW service history. Also had glow plugs, brakes, and cam belt water pump change

The VW Service History is a give-away. The Police look after (?) their own vehicles.

The drop vents wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. I’d daub the cut edge (if not already done) with a suitable paint, then adhere a disc of something (Ali? Plastic?) from underneath with sikaflex.

That phenolic with the Ali trim at the back is identical to the fit-out in my ex-fleet when I got it, which was fitted by Bott. Great company.

As others have said, fleet are looked after well.

Looks v tidy to me.

Yep to be fair it’s looks in really good condition. Its just the mileage 148K putting me off however as said it’s had a few things replaced

Ex vw assist vans.

Great shout. You had any experience with them? I imagine they’re not as abused as likes of RAC vans?

I’ve just looked at one of them on Auto Trader App, giving access to higher definition pics. The ‘vents’ are fitted into what looks like an aftermarket laminated/painted wood floor.
This appears to be screwed down?
2 points; undoing a few screws would allow a look under it,
And the holes all these ‘self-drilling?’ screws would leave will need sealing too.

If it’s the Bott fitout I think it is, the floor is just laid on a couple of blobs of silicon with a silicon edge fill.

Looks rather like a line of four, or even six, screw heads running side to side just in front of the trim strip adjacent the threshold?
Edit; And four more running between the wheel arches?

Don't Sortimo make racking? Sure I've seen the name in my SiL's Transit.

I suspect the floor may be fixed into ply below it. However good spot and it’s definitely that floor. Managed to find the vents too

One of this forum’s many brilliant facets is assisting with due diligence when required.
Hope you end up with a good-un.
