HUD advice?

I’ve always been sceptical of such HUD devices. The primary usage of a HUD is in fast jets, where it is focussed at infinity so that the pilot does not need to re-focus to read info. That benefit does not exist in a car where it is a screen image reflected off the windscreen, though it will be closer to a drivers eyeline. Also, an aircraft HUD uses a dedicated screen to reflect off, which is obviously designed to cope with bright sunlight while still being readable and still allowing good vision through it. I can’t believe that an after market item such as above would be very useable overall.
However, I would be interested to hear any real-world experiences.

I would be wary of plugging the box of electronics into my ODB port. I'm sure we've all heard tales of fried ECUs from fake VCDS cables.

Got a HUD in my mini and wouldn't be without one now. Does seem like a pointless and expensive gizmo but works brilliantly.

Had it in my last BMW and worked brilliantly, even in sun. I do miss it when navigating as it keeps your head up
