SO I disconnected the negative off the battery whilst installing my amp and now after recoonecting everything up I've got nearly all the errors coming up at start up.. no this no that! Is this a reset using the vcds ? if so anybody near Manchester? Many thanks

Simon

You shouldn’t have any. Try removing the -ve again. Perhaps it wasn’t a clean reconnect and a few sparks were produced. The only thing that should need resetting is the auto windows.

Great... As soon as I've got the wahing up done I'll take the neg back off the battery... I guess leave it a bit? then got it back on on one swift move.

Ok..So that didn't work.. ! poop... i got the follwing warnings coming up... in order.. ( had to make a video to record them ! )
1. Manouverung braking currnetly unvailable.
2.Error Stabilisation Cobtrol (ESC )
3.Error Hold Assist
4.Error Airbag ( This is actually an old warning from where I didnt reconnected the cable ubder the drivers seat after removing it )
5.Front assist unvailable.

Any thoughts? coudl I phone VW assist with this?

Many thanks

Is your battery well charged ? If you have a voltmeter can you measure its voltage ?

Pete

Have you driven it ?,should not happen I would trace back the work you’ve done make sure you have not connected into something you should not have, or left unplugged

Pulled any fuses while fitting the amp?

Yep... it needed a drive. Thank god for that... drove up into the hills to test the new amp and speaker set up... drove back very happy that there were no more alarms but with slightly less hearing than when I left.

Your steering wheel angle sensor has to be relearned after disconnecting the power. For future reference, all you need to do is to start the engine and rotate your steering wheel to full lock clockwise and then anticlockwise. That's it, all faults should disappear.
