Hello

I have a T32 LWB Transporter, no popup, basic panel van, awesomness..

How much weight will the roof take? It has 8 mounting holes?

Im thinking if i put a popup on and sleep up there then I might have issue with me + mrs (im 107kg :O and shes like 60kg)

So if the weight limit is 150kg then we're stuffed :D which got me thinking, what actually is the weight limit?

150kg according to my manual, for a standard roof rack.

So if I put a bed up there, i.e. popup and the bed goes across to both sides am I stuffed?
Or do I stop being an idiot and just put supports in for my fatness? (or lose weight - unlikely)

The way I look at it, VW have put a limit of 150kg for what could be a badly positioned load, driven at 80mph, so will have put a lot of contingency in there. You could put a lot more static weight on it, and be safe (IMHO), as long as you use the manufacturers mount points, and spread the load evenly.

Might not always be static
:mexican wave:

As other have said, the max loading is for when moving, taking into account aerodynamics and other forces.
