Hesitation

Bit of a long shot this on guys and girls...

My T6 is absolutely spot on however a friend of mine (also a T6 owner) rang me this morning over his van..

He said that occasionally when driving there feels like a slight hesitation/splutter. There's not pattern and it apparently happens at different speeds but on longer runs.

It's just been into a local VW specialists for service work, they drove it and couldn't find anything. Guessing they just drove up and down the road!

Anyway I'm going to take it out tomorrow afternoon to see if I can make any sense out of it. I'll also plug in and see if any error codes are stored.

First thoughts were kicking in and out of DPF regen but I was wondering if anyone had experienced anything similar?

:)

I’ve only had a bit of splutter a couple of times on mine but it was in France driving at 130km/h up an incline and the outside air temp was 40c. I just put it down to being at the edge of the operating envelope so backed off the speed and didn’t push the engine so hard.

haha that'll do it Broadside..

This is more like flat roads in UK temps and mid range speeds.

Hi….this may be a red herring..but I’ve just had a vacuum filter on the boost control solenoid/valve changed ….it was very dirty….On my van 204ps I’ve got four filters the same ( but are not service parts that VW change). So I’ve started a 2 year change over..
but if the boost valve is playing up it can give some issues you’ve said….something to consider :)

Hi..
Did you ever sort this.

Mine does it

And I've had a new dpf and egr
Hi Lenth,

It turned out to be an electrical issue. He had the van converted and it appears the converters has somehow damaged a wiring loom.. No idea how or what but a local VW specialist managed to diagnose and fix for him.
