I can’t believe it.
Just about to pull the pin and buy a kombi.
Got the wife on side and everything,
Then what happens
Insurance came back at 1300 quid.
The wife has said no way,
I pay 400 for my Ford Edge sport,

Has anyone had the same problem.
I’m there in buying the dam thing.
Only this could happen to me

Yep I paid £250 for a 66 plate VW Polo Gti then part ex for a 67 T6 panel Van 101 bhp converted to camper (brand new conversion)and insurance was £789 first year dropped to £640 2nd year despite ringing around couldn't find it cheaper.

That's just absurd. I pay less than £280 per year fully comprehensive for my T6.
Shop around, it doesn't need to be so expensive.

Plenty of info on Insurance here; Insurance

I’ve managed 530 aviva
Just wondering if I missed anything as it a saving of 800 quid,
I’m beginning to think it’s not meant to be tbh

You have to shop around with these vans. Your usual car insurer may not want the risk.

Pete

Try A-plan, they are much more suited to van insurance than the standard companies

hi guys well you all did well on the price but you have not said what the companies that your insured with are

worth even trying direct - line if its a van they were cheap when i first got my van

im with Aviva it auto renewed @ £ 530 too i should of shopped around

A PLAN was doing a good price

Not a camper, but I alternate between Direct Line and LV. As a new customer LV was less than £300 last year, but they wanted nearly £500 to renew. Direct line were about £270 as a new customer. I bet next year I'll be back to LV.

im going to do a bit more digging tonight,
i was shocked at the price a plan gave me, no mods or anything.

managed to get insurance for 530 with mods
now finace arnt playing ball
i dont think this van is for me tbh

I’ve always paid around £900 due to my london postcode…

Brent acre etc won’t even quote me!

I’m 40 with 20+ years faultless driving plus no claims bonus etc

LV are currently covering me although my new TSI (revo map, DSG map, Revo big brakes, Miltek exhaust, B14s) is going to cost £3000/year

Before I had Transporters, I was paying a similar amount each year for cars, regardless of being ‘low risk’ from a personal standpoint

I think location plays the leading part in cost
