Hello all,
I've just had my austops put in by 8ball campers (Pro job)
They left the connectors for the courtesy light dangling so I could reinstall.
Like a true beginner/idiot, I cut the connector off.
the bulb fault light has come on and I’ve got no rear red lights now when the lights are on.
the lads said I’ve cut the loom to the abs.
id just like to reconnect the light connector.....and hide it....
the connector has 3 wires there are another 2, red and black inside the fabric tape....
how do I fix please?
thanks so much paul Mc

Rejoin the wires and fit your ceiling light / terminate and hide them,
do what you need to do with the extra two wires (or terminate them)
and then change the fuse at SC12.
Job done. Tail lamps will then be back in action.

Oh and welcome to the forum.

Wow that was fast thank you!
do I have to fit the ceiling light for the fault to go?
can I just tape them off safely and hide in the roof?
i don’t understand where the 2 extra went to.
thanks ads Essex much appreciated

Check with 8Ball, but the extra two may be for an additional light fitting?

The interior lights are not monitored, so taping them off and leaving without a light will not throw up a warning.

On that 3 wire connector which ones could be used for additional courtesy lights in the rear of the van, I have a test lamp and have a live supply even when off. Thanks Neil

Red/black, permanent (timed) +12v
brown/red, doors switched -ve
brown, permanent -ve

Thanks so I would need to use Red/Black and Brown/Red to provide power for new lights. Cheers
Yes, or add a 3 way switch so you can have off, on with the doors or permanently on.
