Having Hook Up Charge The Leisure Battery

If it’s a Sargent unit then as others said it’s worth looking to see if it is actually charging the lb on hookup. It’s what I have and looking at the schematics seems hard to not have it charging?
Is it one of these EC155 Power Supply Unit | Shop | Sargent Electrical
With one of these as a control panel? EC50 Control Panel | Shop | Sargent Electrical

The battery monitor isn’t desperately accurate but if you are on hookup it should jump up to a green led pretty quickly.

If you decide to buy a charger and get one with multiple connectors like this (they come in different amp ratings and with a UK plug - check the victron website) you can connect the M6 eyelet lead permanently across your leisure battery and then unclip and use the crocodile clips to charge/maintain your starter battery when needed. This is useful if the van is going to stand for any periods over winter as the starter battery will lose charge and these chargers will keep them in good condition. Definitely read @Dellmassive thread on chargers before you buy one.
