Gas vent by exhaust pipe

Hi all, I’m looking at locating my gas locker & vent at the rear end of my van but I worry the vent is close to the exhaust. My exhaust finishes mid-way down the van so I worry the fumes will come into the van via the gas vent. Any ideas?

@BoroBoy fitted an extension to his short exhaust so the tailpiece exits the van at the rear bumper?... Just a possible option for you?

Hi, did you ever get to do this? I want to do the same behind the offside wheel arch but am unsure what is the best position without removing the exhaust shield to see.

I have my drop vent here, it’s just void space underneath. The exhaust stops half way down the van. Not noticed anything coming back up.

Thanks. Ok I have a t5 and the exhaust goes all the way. Not worried about exhaust fumes, just bling drilling a hole
