Garage recommendation - Andover, Hampshire

Hi all

Apologies if this isn’t the right place to post. Will move it if necessary.

I’m looking to get some work on my T6. Cambelt and pump, clutch kit and service (oil and fuel filters)

Been quoted by a local mobile garage that does stuff at home on his ramp too.

Mostly good reviews but a local recently put doubt in my mind.

Been quoted £1350 all in as he reckons can save on labour doing clutch and cambelt at the same time which seems reasonable.

Just wanted to see if there are any people with good experiences locally to me? The local VW specialist hasn’t got back to me after two enquiries…

They are Bosch Franchise so have the diagnostic gear for VW and the back up of Bosch.

Roger the owner is an ex main dealer VW Audi Master Tech. ( He was looking after the press cars and in the training school when the Audi RS4 first came out, so knows his onions.) very good at diagnostics too.

Also he’s a VW fanatic.

Well worth a call. My T6.1 still has a year OEM warranty (it’s a ‘22 plate) but I get all my extras (apart from basic service with MD to keep warranty) done with him, and he’s looked after my vehicles for years.

For the purposes of clarity I will say he’s a very good friend, it I trust him with both my life and my pride and joy.

Nice to see another ‘Andover T6’ on the forum too.

I’ve emailed them to ask for a quote. I’ve been quoted £1450 for the lot which seems really good but I’d rather take a recommendation if it’s a close price.

I did my apprenticeship while the second RS4 was released. Always dreamt of owning one. Bought one. And it turned out to be a dud
