Fuel Pump Immobilizer

Anybody ever fitted a switch to isolate the fuel pump as a simple immobiliser?

I Looked into it and all you will do is stop the lift pump at which point you are likely to destroy the high pressure fuel when it then runs dry, which will end up costing thousands when you get the engine replaced.
Easier to pull 1 fuse to disable the starter circuit.
Or just do what a lot of us have done and fit an Autowatch Ghost.

Or fit a hidden magnetic switch to the starter circuit and carry a small magnet.

Appreciate the replies guys, I've heard of the Ghost & it gets good reviews.
May well just splash the cash, our vans are pricey enough to warrant the security.
