Front Tow Bar Cover

sorry to ask a stupid question but.....

one of the things i lost / damaged driving through flood water at the weekend was our front tow bar cover, I've noticed on my new one that it has a tail piece that looks like it clips into something on the bumper, i can't see what though ? can anyone help please ?

As you look at the bumper opening there should be a tab on the left hand side. It is possible it was damaged

There's a small cut out underneath the cover that you push the retainer into which then expands and keeps it from falling out when opened.
