Front ceiling light removal

OK newbie question of the day, how on earth do you get into this particular front light cluster to change the bulbs? There doesn't seem to be anywhere to get a trim tool in or anything 20200921_181803.jpg

I'm fairly certain that there are metal spring clips on each side.
Thanks. I got it off in the end. Not metal spring clips but plastic lugs on the front and rear edges. Once off it is easy to see that you are better to go in from the side furthest from the windscreen as the lugs are different on each side of the plastic cover. When it goes back on the side closest to the windscreen goes in first.

Did you remove the whole console or only the square cap in the center? Could you share a picture so we can see the lugs?

just the oblong plastic cover over the bulbs. Sorry didn't take a photo. Basically there are two lugs on the side closest to the front window, each about 1cm in from the edge of the cover. The clips on the opposite side are in the same place, about 1cm in from the edge. So to remove start with a trim tool on a corner furthest away from the front window working along the long side furthest from the window.

I realise that this is an older thread, but it helped me at least start somewhere before I potentially snapped a plastic cover that I would end up regretting!!
I took some photos once I'd got the cover off. Sadly I couldn't prise off only the light plastic cover because I just couldn't get anything down between that and the cover to the rear of it. I therefore worked forwards from the cover 2 back from it, as can be seen in the photos. Hopefully this will help visualise what you are trying to do before something goes snap!!
