As an aside to this. We're currently in Bordeaux on our way home from Portugal. Diesel in Portugal is around the €1.40/l mark, Spain €1.20, France €1.50. France used to be cheap, but not anymore.

Got back from SW France on Sunday. Cheapest supermarket Gazole I found was €1.41/ltr. Most expensive I paid (on a toll road - only put enough drops in to get me to next stop) was €1.64/ltr. I thought fuel was expensive in France. I paid £1.29/ltr and my local Sainsburys.

On the plus side, I saved a fortune drinking local french red wine... swings and roundabouts...
