First fill, first gripe..

Is it me or is there nowhere to stow the fuel cap. It just hung and got in the way, so I ended up getting diesel on me. Memo- Need to use two placky gloves next time.

Tell me that I've missed something really trick.

Fuel flap, why the flimsy bit of plastic to secure the flap behind the passenger door. I can see why there are spares for this bit.
Just making the shape of the flap different would sort it??

I thought you could put it on the holder above the filler, sort of lip you clip the cap on

Theres a small notch at the top of the fuel flap opening and one edge of the cap hooks into it, when fitted the fuel cap is horizontal poking out sideways from the van, its hard to explain but have a look im sure you will see what i mean

I saw a little bar across the top of the opening, (I hate old age!!) and perhaps with me specs, the fit might look more obvious

And me, could not understand why I have one on my car but not the T6 then I spread it. It works fine

I have done 40k and quite a few fills and I have never noticed! just let it dangle! When I get back to Dan Haag I will have a look and feel foolish! Luckily it will be short lived as I have a bad memory

I've always thought it must clip on somehow but never quite worked it out!
It was more obvious on the T5 as there was a nice cap shaped hole you could shove it into.

Bloody Hell! This thread just highlights how useful this forum actually is! We have a New Tiguan and the cap clearly has somewhere to sit when filling up, i stood wondering whilst buying fuel why the T6 didn't have the same set up. I can't wait to fill it up again now!! I might go for a tootle round to burn some diesel off. Cheers Guys!!!

Sussed it.
The filler cap has a couple of notches on n the edge which fit over the bar above the opening.

Specs eh, who needs 'em.
