My van has this fault, had it cleared then came on after 20miles. Went off itself for about 200miles then back on and hasn't gone off again. Going to take the plunge and get the egr changed out. You should be fine for your 120mile round trip

Thanks. Booked in Fri for diag. Few places said don’t drive could wreck engine.
Prob if the EGR cooler leaks maybe.
Another said prob the dpf.
Could be whole host of things I suppose.
I could clear and see if comes back before fri but if it doesn’t the garage will struggle to find the issue maybe… ho hum!

I guess irs all just opinions until its properly diagnosed. Feel free to give an update with how you get on

Simon,
I have the same code on mine, what was the outcome?

Old thread but someone might find this tip useful.
If this is your EGR unit? Don't panic.
Your engine isn't going to blow up, it could just mean the valve in the EGR isn't closing properly and so the error pops up.
It could be a little soot or something causing it not to close properly

I've been running my van with this code for 5 years and it comes and goes depending on quality of fuel I use and whether or not I use an additive.

Dont catastrophe every little dash light. But its worth getting it checked out.
