European Recovery Recommendations

We are off to Europe in the van for a couple trips over the next 3-4 months, and may do another trip a few months after that. We are RAC members, and have defaulted to them for European Recovery cover when we have taken a car, but wondered what worked best with a camper van - any recommendations ?

We are also members of the Caravan and Motorhome Club if that helps.

I didn’t think thar VW Assist covered stuff like bringing your vehicle back for repair or sorting alternative accommodation for you.

From previous posts I think the VW assist recovery/dealer network through Europe can be a bit hit and miss depending on when and where you are

Having a similar dilemma . Have had RAC euro cover with caravan covered too through caravan & camping club , always felt well covered abroad with them .
With previous van it was possible to upgrade the VW assist ( RAC ) to cover caravan in Europe too for about £30 - only ever had one call out - for a flat battery whilst in south of France . Oddly enough whilst RAC were providing the cover , it was an English geezer in a UK reg'd AA van who came to help us .
One of the justifications to myself in changing my van was that I would save the £200 per year for RAC arrival euro cover - but sounds like I will end up getting this anyway for peace of mind for long trips in Europe if the VW assist is hit & miss ??
