It might have been triggered by the high altitude. you could just check for leaks on the high-pressure hoses to and from the Intercooler and check the intercooler itself for stone damage.

Thanks loz really appreciate it. It's a pain when an engine light comes on on holiday. It clears with carista then comes back on a few miles later
