@Taylorm that looks a fantastic system, my only concern would be how far it stick out when deployed. We looked at the Karitek system for our kayaks, but ended up with Thule Slidebars. Slide across to one side, load the kayak, slide out to the opposite side and load the 2nd kayak. Depend on how tall you are though. We are 5’8” and 5’9” and you probably dont want to be any smaller.

I’ve seen this work on another thread and it is an elegant looking solution you have developed!
 
Yes its a manual lift which keeps the design simpler. It weighs about 12.5 kg AND it is an aerodynamic shape so it looks good and doesn't hit the mpg too hard.
