DRLs: Replacing OEM P21W bulbs with LEDs

Put some LEDs in today. They could almost be too bright!

Not a phrase normally associated either the H4 Unit.

I use these they are great, it's only headlights that have to have approval & meet MOT needs. These are 21W not 55w

LED (light emitting diode) is a solid state semiconductor and most definitely not a HID (high intensity discharge) type of electrical gas-discharge lamp.

And why would they be illegal?
OK, so LED is not an HID light, but I am guessing you will find they are treated the same by the DfT, police etc. The relevant document was produced by the DfT in 2010 before LEDs became common for vehicle lighting. There was another thread on this on the forum, so have a read of that. This is the link to the document. http://webarchive.nationalarchives....ormation-sheets/aftermarket-hid-headlamps.pdf

This thread is about DRLs and you are referring to headlights, is there a bit of wire crossing here ??
