Drive-away awning rail

I've just bought an Easy-Camp drive away awning & wondering if anyone can recommend where I can get the c-shaped rail I need to thread it onto the van.
The awning side is about 6mm diameter.

If you are going to drive away from it, then you need the rail, plus a Kadar strip plus some figure of eight plastic strips.

So I have a question related to this. We tried the drive away awning connector last year for a bell tent. As we have roof bars on I had to use the magnetic canvas type, similar below. Pants! Avoid!





Is there a way of connecting something more sturdy underneath or around fixed roof bars using the same bolts?, we have a roof box and bikes up there? I don't fancy using adhesive or bolts onto the side of the van if it can be helped. Any thoughts. Thanks.

Yes, a couple of suppliers do a rail which attaches under one of the roof bars. We have one, and it’s perfect.
