Just remember that you are only supposed to repair the center part of the tread. Anything close or on the sidewall of the tyre shouldn’t be repaired for safety reasons.

Just had a set of michelin pilot sport tyres fitted to my wolfrace assassin wheels only 2 weeks ago, day before yesterday i pulled out of a gravel car park and o/s/f tyre flat as a witches tit. Was told by my local tyre company that it was unrepairable so i gave it to ATS who said they would send it off to see if it could be heat welded but they were not sure as although the split which was actually right in the centre of the tyre didn't look too promising as it was approx 25mm across in length.

A VW Master tech mechanic put me onto them....
helps fitting heavy wheels on a car/van when its up on a lift.

they take the weight, so you can line up the wheel bolts easier...

I think they are great. . . . . you can use one or two

I work closely with Goodyear and on some of their tyres they permitted repairs to the actual sidewalk not that I would purely as it’s out of the norm

In my experience most tyre depots are more likely to try to push a normal customer toward buying new tyres rather than a repair, unless you (as in your case) you have enough professional expertise to stand your ground.

British Standard Tyre Repair Rules

• Tyre repairs for cars and vans are only permitted in the central 60% to 70% of the tyres nominal width (known as ‘Area T’), with this percentage differing as shown below, depending on the size of the tyre.

Repairable Percentage Area (‘Area T’) based on Nominal Section Width​
Up to and including 155mm	60%​
Between 155mm and 200mm	65%​
Above 200mm	70%​

Example - Tyre size 205/55R16;
Nominal section width = 205mm

70% of this width = 144mm

This tyre is repairable within 72mm of either side of the tyre centre line.

• The maximum diameter of the penetration hole left by the puncturing object is 6mm.
• Repairs in Area T must not overlap one another.

NOTE: All the information on this page is relevant to what is considered a minor repair to a radial construction tyre fitted to a car and van. This information is not relevant to commercial vehicles, heavy plant or industrial vehicles. Major repairs such a repairs to sidewall damage are also governed by the same British standard but will need to be sent away to a specialist major repairer.
