Diesel Heater Fuel Feed

Hello all. We recently bought a T6 campervan convertion. The van came with what I have found out is a Chinese Diesel Heater. This weekend we had a large fuel leak, investigations proved it to be the weak in line fuel filter (split). This was easily replaced, but my question is in regards the feed to this filter. It has been tee'd off the main fuel line. Is this correct / allowed?
Sorry for the long winded intro.

Thanks in advance.

Be careful - those heaters tend to be fitted with dangerous green fuel line as well. Put up a pic so that I can cast my eye over the setup and check as best that I can.
You must NOT tee off the main fuel line to the engine as that is pressurized - most probably the cause of the filter split. You must not tee off the return line either as there is a non-return valve inside the tank unit. You MUST use a standpipe as per Webasto instructions for the T6:

Thank you very much. This was my suspicion. I now have to remove this and reinstate the fuel line.

Sorry to be a monger of doom, but if that's how they've fitted the heater, imagine what bodges they could have done elsewhere! You might want to spend a weekend stripping it all out and redoing electrics, etc.

Yes that has been my thinking.

It was fitted by the company who did the campervan conversation. It was a request we made as part of the negotiation. I won't speculate on their competency in regards fitting these items. Unfortunately taking it back isn't really an option as they are nigh on 400 miles away from us. I'll get a stand pipe kit and fit it to the tank sender unit.
