Deaky’s Kombi to Camper journey

Can see that I need to take a trip to B&Q in the very near future! Do you have a link on their website so I know what to get?
I’ve had a look @DaveyB but I can’t find it. It’s a 20mm x 20mm black plastic L shaped trim. It was in the hardware section.

Lots of waiting around today for adhesive to go off. I made some guy lines for my Kirvans sail while I was waiting

Here’s a sneak peek of what’s going on.

Had a full day on it today. Everything seems to take twice as long as you’d think. I’ve test fitted the rear panels and pimped up the motor covers.

They look a bit Frankenstein’s monster  but they’ll be fine when they’re carpeted. The rear piece is held in place with 1 screw so can be easily removed.

Obviously there will be ambient lights just above the door pockets :D

I’ve covered the motor covers with foam first then carpeted them.

Spot the deliberate mistake :cautious:

The door pockets and the rest of the ply will be carpeted. The old speaker grille is where I’m going to fit the led dimmer switches. The white wood showing will be covered in Napa leather with red stitch detail to match the seats.

Very Nice and Very Clever!

I can't decide in which order but that is tidy

Thanks for all your kind words :x3: Guess I’m lucky that I’ve always been good with my hands :whistle:. After the bag of shite I got back after sending my old van for someone else to convert, this time I thought I’d try and do as much as I could myself. This being my second van I know exactly what works for us camping and using the van for work. It’s getting exciting now but I could of happily set fire to it a few weeks ago when I got it back from VanDoc. I’d stripped all the dash, leisure electrics, door cards, stereo and cab out. Got to admit I was a bit overwhelmed

As usual I’d set myself an impossible goal of doing everything in a couple of days. Fortunately I have a great wife who kept me from the matches  Glad I stuck with it now.

Great effort, looks amazing! How come you have used Dynamat on doors and SilentCoat on the floor? Is that the best way of doing it?

I had this very conversation with the guys at 'The Sound Deadening Shop' just down the road from me yesterday.

He says the Audio guys love the Dynamat brand, and if your spending £0000's on audio then you'd want the best materials around the best speakers to get the best sounds.

The converters love Silent Coat, as you get a lot more coverage per £ spent.

I was in buying a couple of Dynamat sheets for my new door cards, just following what Absolut5 did on the existing card when they did my sounds, same material same place was my mantra.

If you look at the prices of the two this will make sense.
