Dead Battery

The battery died on my T6 so I have been having it on trickle charge to recover it. I wanted to get it closer to the house so I connected my booster packet jump start it.

The digital dash will not come to life but the van starts and then cuts off after a few seconds which seems unusual.
Any thoughts?
Is it just the case that the battery needs to fully recover?

Have up got a ghost immobiliser?

That's possible imo kicking in

Only the factory alarm. At the moment I have to unlock the van using the key as the key fob will not unlock the doors (I assume lack of battery charge in the van?)
Maybe that is what it is, the alarm is not getting turned off properly when I unlock manually 🤔

The factory alarms will disarm when you start the engine as it will recognise the chip in the key.

If you keep your jump pack connected, will it remain running??

No it doesn't. Have a Noco Boost 2000A which always has done the job. Van starts and immediately cuts out.
I did have a digital screen fitted recently which will not fire up but I assumed it was because the van is too low on power.

The LED light on both key fobs come on when i press the button so I assume they are still good? Regardless, both keys do not lock or unlock the van on the button so I will try new batteries and see how we get on. If they dont work Im at a bit of a loss tbh.

It won't need batteries in the remote to enable the engine to run. The chip in the key speaks to the electrics of the van independently from the keys battery. The key battery is for working the remote locking, not the starting of the engine

Bugger. Im definitely at a loss in that case. To the garage she goes. :(

Sounds like it immobilised to me, if the immo doesn’t turn off van will run for one or two seconds then cut
FWIW immo lives in the cluster so could be related, I wouldn’t bother trying to second guess the problem until you have a properly charged battery or you could just be going around in circles

This happened to me and it turned out the 7.5 amp fuse was broken in the middle row of fuses under the centre console, same symptoms, no dash lights illuminating and it would now and again start but only for a few seconds, sometimes on a key turn there was nothing, might be worth having a look
