Dashcam advice

Good morning. Bit of advice required. I have installed a nextbase dashcam which I've hard wired. It makes a sound when ignition is on and records, but when stop/start is operating it switches off then back on. Is this what should happen? Also should it record if anything happens when it's parked? These things may have been addressed elsewhere on the forum. It's a nextbase 300W.

Mine also makes the sound when turn ignition on and off.
I noticed once that it made these sounds when stop start operated, I looked and it was off. I dont think it usually does this, but its mounted so I cant see the screen from the drivers seat. I will monitor next time I'm in the van.
Recording if parked will depend on how you hard wired it in. Mine is piggy backed on an ignition switched fuse so it wont. I am considering swapping it to a permanent live so it should.

Mine is piggybacked as shown in my reply to oldrat below. I reckon it still working when you stop in traffic is when you really need it.

I've checked. Mine stays on when the stop start kicks in.

Mine stays on too with stop start.

My dashcam was piggybacked off the top 10A fuse lower down the central column in your photo, SC30 I believe.

i set mine so that it takes 2mins to power off after ignition off. It's just a cheap amazon one, but works well.
